Who We Are

Bright Line Eating was founded in 2014 by Susan Peirce Thompson, PhD. Susan holds a B.A. in Cognitive Science and a Ph.D. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. She is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at The University of Rochester.

Does Bright Line Eating really work?

One of the things that sets Bright Line Eating apart from any other is our scientific research. 

Our CEO and founder has a background as a psychology professor and a Ph.D. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. She loves research. She believes discovering the "why" behind a result is just as important as the result itself. 

So at the beginning of Bright Line Eating, we launched our own research program. And as the success of our members has grown over time, so has the data we've collected. 

We published the results of a 2-year study in the Journal of Nutrition and Weight Loss

The results were staggering. 

It proves how well this plan works. More importantly, it shows how likely you are to lose weight and keep it off while following the plan, too.

The average percent weight loss for all 238 participants after 2 years is almost 15%! 


This is the same as having a member weigh 200 pounds on Day 0 of the program… then 6 months later, they've lost 30 pounds and they’ll
keep it off for 2 straight years!

But it gets even better

Look at the change in relationship with food that Bright Line Eating members experience. A whopping 77% of people felt more peace and serenity.

And after just 8 weeks, both hunger and craving levels also began to decline significantly.

In fact, the average participant reported a 35% drop in cravings and a 37.5% drop in hunger levels. Only 2 months in.
