Your Brain May Be Blocking You From Losing Weight.

How susceptible are you?

The Art of Maintenance

A few weeks ago, while I was battling COVID, our refrigerator ended up breaking. Due to my extreme fatigue and the reality of our unfortunate appliance situation, I ended up ordering takeout for dinner nearly a month straight. Over time, this started to mess with my head. Watch this week’s Vlog to hear what I did about it and how it relates to our Art of Maintenance extravaganza that’s happening right now.

Susan, I’m so glad you’re feeling better! I’m going to tell you something now that I think you should know. I expect some people will be shocked that I dare to say it, but others will be nodding along. You brought up the subject, so I’m just going to say it: The hat isn’t working for you. It may seem like a clever solution to disguise changing hairstyles, but it isn’t a neutral look. It’s out of style, and even the yarn is showing wear. It looks fusty and uncomfortably hot. Imagine how it feels to watch you in that bulky hat on a hot, humid summer day. To avoid cringing, I often turn away and just listen to the audio. If you absolutely must have an appearance that doesn’t change, maybe you could try a wig over your shorter haircuts. You are beautiful, and I say this with love and respect: Please, let the hat go!

I have been in maintenance for 10 months after losing my 20 lbs to get to my bright body over 7 months. It all has really been easy. I embraced vegan nutrition almost 9 years ago and had lost 30 lbs. with no effort from that change over 10 months and had kept it off for 7 years and had thought “that was it” until I stumbled upon BLE. So gratefu BLE taught me what I have to eat per day, no need for more or less. I am 68 and I never thought I would go back to less than the 132 lbs. I weighed prior to my first baby at age 31! I now weigh between 127 and 130. I am very interested in the “year of maintenance ” events as Susan had called it and want to join all access. However, besides the time commitment- I am a busy physician a couple af years away from retirement still- I have a lot of difficulty with internet activities. I have never joined Facebook and have no plans or knowledge to do so. I do participe in zoom and Teams but my office staff set it all up for me and solve any glitches any time. When I hear about Mastermind groups and coaching calls and morning calls I wonder how do you even set those up? Would I be able to get the technical support I would need to be able to participate ?

So pleased you are feeling better – and how magnificently timed! Down also with the Covid over here and the holidays, and need to pull it all back together again. Yeah, it’s the long haul, short termism has never helped and I’m going to take it one meal at a time. Thank you xx
