One Year Bright

This Monday, I celebrated one year of consecutive Bright Line days where I ate exactly according to my food plan. There have been times during my recovery when I’ve struggled to string together Bright Line days, which, ironically, happened to be while I was trying to grow this Bright Line Eating movement. I’ve been waiting a long time to be able to tell you that I have a year Bright, and in this week’s vlog, I share the four core lessons that I learned during my journey over the past year.

Excellent vlog and message. Please stop using the phrase “drink the kool-aid” though. The event it references was horrific and should not be minimized in this way.

Many Thanks for this vlog. I have been in the ditch for several months after 1.5 years of BL. I have regained all my weight plus 10#. I’m on day two of a rezoom. Your video gives me hope.

Awesome Susan! Love the 2 foot from and out of the ditch analogy. I have really benefitted from the fruits of your struggles and so appreciate your honesty surrounding them. And as for grace…God is good. Thanks for helping me attain a weight and levity (pun intended)

Thank you Susan for giving hope & well done. I had a year of being a crystal vase when I started & it was wonderful, so amazing! The last 6 mths I’ve not been able to have much more than a week in a row. I won’t give up, I know how good it feels to be that free & I will be again, I’m never giving up!

First Congratulations and thank you – WOW … this vlog came precisely when I needed to hear it! I have been struggling with not feeling accountable and needing more support and you hit the nail on the head. I need to seek those channels! I need to re-commit to myself to work the program as it is written. I am doing well, 31.2 lbs released to the universe in 8 weeks -but I am at the point of knowing I need to step up my commitments and accountability. Thank you for all you’ve taught me SPT and BLE!

I literally have goose bumps, Susan! I was a boot camper in Feb 2015 and I have 2 years and 7 months of back to back abstinence. I am working a 12 step program now but I owe my life to Bright Line Eating!
Your content and delivery of these experiences are beyond inspirational. Thank you for your guidance and your service!

Congrats, Susan! Your transparency is a gift to us all. None of us is perfect, but we all have a strong core, and perhaps the reason this year has been so difficult was for those of us trying to accomplish something were given the ultimate tests. Personally, I feel it can be self-destructive to feel like a failure because you have not followed a plan of whatever nature perfectly for a certain period of time. I have a hard time with all-or-nothing thinking. I have benefited from the Bright Line Eating Program but I reached my goal weight and have cut myself a bit more slack. Maybe it is because I am a 1 on the craving scale, but I know how to identify when I am beginning to slide and then just go back to the basics. I do this in other areas of my life as well. Now since we are living in stress daily, I am more sensitive as to my vulnerable times, and I can gently, not harshly bring myself back to center. Just my way of handling me, for whatever it is worth.

thank you so much – I am on day one after many months of being a voyeur on the BLE facebook group – seeing such beautiful transformations. I am surrendering today to this process! Your honesty about the year was so important for me just beginning. Congratulations about this year! Your humility and sincerity is what is calling to me. Thank you for your gut level honesty! I feel very privileged to have received that gift from you! I am on day one of BLE after reading the book 18 months ago. Why now? I have become diabetic and I don’t want to travel that road. I am a registered nurse…i know the outcome and it isn’t pretty. Thank you.

    Susan,
Just a beginner. Signed up for boot camp yesterday. Haven’t even started yet. Been experimenting with the program- read your book. So, …the emencity of being “Bright” for 365 days seems overwhelming and intimidating at this point. I am so proud of you, however, and pray that some day I will be able to declare myself “Bright,” for a year too.
    Congratulations!!

Congratulations Susan! I think this vlog is very important. I sent you the question through Jeff in the support center but I had not seen that I could do it here. Could you tell us what you did when you were binging for 3 years (sounds like me) and working very hard to try and become bright again THAT YOU DID NOT DO anymore so that you could go back to basics? Were you over exercising, being too stressed running BLE or, most of all, were you eating differently? You see, I’ve been at this my whole life (and I am a senior citizen). I’ve lost 60 lbs in last year (not all with BLE because I had not found it). BLE is the program for me forever more. I really really would not like to have to do this again(the weight loss)! Please help so that I can add those actions to my list of no no actions. Thank you so much!

Could you describe what was “not following the plan”. What were the tweaks switched, justifications and rationalizations etc . What was different about your program compared to now?

Thank you Susan! You are brave. Your vlog resonates with me as I have been in the ditch since November 2018 prior to that I had a year and five months with bright lines. I have found 27 of the 50 lbs that I lost 😳. Like you I have gone back to basics am re reading your book and its helping especially reading the personal stories of people in the book is motivating. Its helpful to read the comments and know I’m not alone. I can’t believe I’m writing a comment myself its my first I tend to shy away from Fbook but thats another story but I feel solidarity with you and others who have shared. Have been able to have more consecutive bright days as I really couldn’t have one day sometimes. Getting close to the road. Your so right about the mystery but sometimes it just clicks. Thank you and thank everyone 🙂

    Susan,

I am doing your 14 day plan now. I like your system and plan for getting to a right sized body. I have tried other diet plans but always end up giving up on them. My problem is I eat for boredom not hunger. What would you say to this? Thanks.

Made me cry there at the end. Thank you so much Susan. Your words have given me so much strength over the years and your perspective on recovery is spot on. It is a gift and no one can say why some are graced with recovery and others struggle. Or even why one individual may get it only to lose it and then get it back! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Food is my last frontier, and I feel like I can maybe do it someday.

BLE is a tool…an excellent one for me. Can it get me through every single trigger moment. Realistically and as I’m finding through experience, no. But it has helped me find my Bright body and given me the path back to the Bright highway, no matter the episode I just experienced. It is a miracle in my life..completely transformed my physical, mental and emotional worlds…so much so that my hubby and I are truly looking forward to or 70’s😎👏👏👏🎉🎊🎉🎊💙💛‼️ Thank you so much for bringing this miracle to the world, Susan‼️✨💙💛🙏🏻

Congratulations on 1 Year!! It’s significant and thank you for sharing your experience, strength, and hope – truly appreciated!
After almost 2 yrs of BLs and then 9 months of quantity breaks, I’ve strung together 7 weeks and feel like I’m back in the flow of Grace – TY, Divine Mother! Over this past year I’ve been reminded my food addition is cunning, baffling, and powerful. For me it felt like Grace returned with a few keys NOs – no, I’m not going to have more food than I wrote down; no, I’m not going to eat over XYZ instead of ABC; no, food is not going to change my current circumstance with people places or things. #Back2BLEbasics
